Cranberry Orange Relish

My mother found this recipe on the back of a bag of cranberries over 30 years ago and it has been a Thanksgiving staple ever since. We even slather it on white bread for leftover turkey sandwiches…Yum!

1 bag of fresh cranberries
1 cup of sugar
1 large orange
  1. Clean the cranberries, removing any that are blemished.
  2. Rinse the orange and cut it in quarters, then quarter it again. remove any large seeds you may see.
  3. Dump the prepared berries and orange chunks into the food processor and pour in the sugar.
  4. Chop the ingredients until the pieces are uniform in size and well mixed. Chill for at least four hours. Serve cold.
