Basil Infused Vodka

This year’s CSA has blessed us with an abundance of fresh basil. While I love cooking with this verdant green leafy herb, I had a flash of inspiration and decided to make basil infused vodka.

3 Cups of good quality vodka
1 Cup of loosely packed, washed and dried basil leaves

Place basil leaves in the bottom of a resealable Quart container or pitcher.

Pour vodka over leaves and muddle the ingredients together with a wooden spoon. Cover and let sit in a cool dark place for 3 days.

Strain basil vodka mixture through a coffee filter or cheese cloth into a clean quart-sized bottle. Let sit in the refrigerator for at least 3 days to enhance the basil flavor. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 months.
