Tourmaline Inspired Bangles

Tourmaline is one of my favorite gemstones.  It’s rarity and wide variety of hues makes it an expensive stone to add to your jewelry collection.  For my birthday last year, the hubby got me a beautiful necklace featuring two tourmaline stones: one pink and one blue-green.

I like my jewelery to come in sets: necklace, matching earrings and bracelet.  Adding additional tourmaline pieces to the collection is not financially feasible. SO… I put on my thinking cap and decided to make something.

At The Beadin’ Path — my favorite bead shop located in Freeport, ME — I found instructions for a quick solution to my problem,  Embellished Bangles.

The largest beads I used were vintage Swarovski crystals and vintage German Glass Turquoise beads, matching the colors of the stones on my necklace. I added smaller green and brown Swarovski crystals and pink opaque beads to finish the bangles off. Each bangle has a slightly different pattern, making them sit nicely when stacked.

Next I will be making matching earrings!
